So, Who's Katie?

I am a sinner saved by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ, a daughter of the King of the Universe, and an alien and stranger on earth. My permanent address is Heaven. Hallelujah!

Down here on this "mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam" (as Carl Sagan describes our little planet), I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and Kenya, a pastor's kid (for  my first eleven years), then a missionary kid (from 1992 when we moved to Kenya until the present). I have 4 brothers, 1 sister, and two wonderful parents.

In 1999, I graduated from Rift Valley Academy in my hometown of Kijabe, Kenya, and embarked upon a rather convoluted college career, which took me through 3 different schools and several academic majors  over 5.5 years until I finally graduated from Moody Bible Institute (Chicago) in December, 2004 with a degree in Applied Linguistics. Through a  God-ordained series of events, I ended up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I am now in the process of completing my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Marquette University.

I have the tremendous blessing of being a part of Word of Grace Bible Church, which meets in Waukesha. My pastor is committed to teaching the truth straight from the Bible, emphasizing the glorious gospel of grace. It is a delight to learn and grow with other believers of like precious faith.

My life verses are 2 Corinthians 2:16-18 "Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary trials are acheiving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Therefore, we focus not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
